Playing Time & Lineups

  • AAA League
  • Single A League

Single A

  • Batting Lineup: All rostered players present at the game must be placed in the continuous batting order.

  • Defensive Substitutions: Defensive substitutions are open and do not affect the batting order.

  • Mandatory Playing Time: No player shall sit on the bench for more than 2 defensive innings in a single game.

  • Guideline: It is strongly recommended that no player sits for consecutive defensive innings.

AAA

  • Batting Lineup: AAA teams have two options:

    1. Utilize a continuous batting order with all present players.

    2. Bat 9 players and follow standard NFHS substitution rules.

  • Playing Time: While WBL strongly encourages following the Single A guidelines for playing time, final defensive playing time in the AAA division is at the discretion of the head coach.
