Music, Noise Makers & Field Policy

Music is allowed to be played by teams, subject to the rules and regulations set by each league, city, or field manager. If an umpire or league official requests that music be turned down or turned off for any reason, compliance must be immediate and without argument. Noise makers (air horns, cowbells, whistles, etc.) are not permitted at any time.

Music Best Practices

• Defense: Music may be played between innings.

• Offense: Offense should play walkup songs during at-bats.

• Single Team Music: If only one team is playing music, that team is allowed to play music between all innings, regardless of which team is playing defense.

• General: All music must be clean (no profanity or explicit lyrics) and must not cause distraction to the opposing team or umpire.
