New Team Approval
To maintain the competitiveness of the WBL, all new 10U-14U teams must be approved by the board and provide two references from current WBL team coaches.
This requirement does not apply to 8U and 9U teams.
Returning Team Eligibility
- .150 or belowAny Silver team with a combined winning percentage of .150 or below (regular season and tournament) is ineligible to return to the WBL.
- .151 to .250Teams between .151 and .250 will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
- ExemptDoes not apply to teams transitioning from 8U to 9U or 9U to 10U.
Automatic Team Placement
Gold to Silver
- .200 or belowMove to Silver
- .201 to .350Reviewed case-by-case
Silver to Gold
- .800 or aboveMove to Gold
- .700 to .799Reviewed case-by-case
All other teams are placed via a coach's vote at the preseason meeting.
Playing Up a Division
Teams wishing to play up an age division must meet strict criteria for approval:
Registration Process
- 1. Confirm a Spot with a Host LeagueThis can be any of the WBL Affiliated leagues or another league that can provide dedicated field space for your home games.
- 2. Complete the Online ApplicationRegister on the WBL website. You will select your host and pay a $25 deposit to secure your application.
- 3. Await Application ReviewThe WBL Board will review your application. You will be notified if your team is approved, rejected, or if more information (such as coach references) is required. Upon approval, the remainder of your league fee will be collected.
